Market trends of Portuguese limestones in Russia
Russia is a great market for Portuguese limestones, which are mostly used on exterior wall cladding of buildings. The past several years has seen a steep increase on the demand for light colored limestones from Portugal such as beige or grey, to be used on a diversity of buildings in the main Russian cities.
Limestones such as Moleanos Fine or Cabeca Veada, which present a very light beige color, fine grain and very uniform background, have been the most popular and can be found on a diversity of projects in Moscow or St Petersburg. But in addition to these, there has been quite some demand for other beige limestones such as Rosal, or the well-known Moca Creme limestone that presents a parallel vein structure.
Some grey colored limestones have also some demand, such as the Ataija Azul or the Azul Valverde, either to be used as main color of the project or in combination with the light beige. Below, you will find some pictures of reference cladding projects supplied in Russia with some of these wonderful Portuguese limestones.
